Head still hurting following a total bitch of meeting in Bangkok yesterday; courtesy of the most arrogant, unpleasant little shit of a man it has been my misfortune to meet.
Best way to make things better; go take some photos. So wandered round my usual haunts and ended up here. World now seems a slightly better place.
Don’t beat about the bush Spike, tell us what you really think of him !
What’s Jock doing in Bangkok?
Ha Ha .. I was about to post ´T´was not me´ .. maybe I have a twin brother
In Jock’s defence; even though it may be hard to cope with his somewhat frenetic alcohol fuelled lifestyle should you find yourself swept up in his vortex; he is one the most kind, decent, down to earth people you could hope to meet.
Just be prepared for a headache the following morning.
Very pleasant composition old chap, very soothing and restful. But who was this dreadful person you had to meet, and why? Your description closely fits that of the average American lawyer in Bangkok, I hope it wasn’t one of them, and I hope it wasn’t anything to do with the dying thyroid – Oh, was it the thyroids lawyer? Shame on the other three for not pandering to your need for gratification and recognition and leaving it to me to ask you to kindly post full technical details of of your stunning landscape, including location.
I wish to refer to this twat no further.
Anyway, a bit of sycophancy always cheers me up, so thanks for that. As Chang Noi identifies, Silverlake outside Pattaya. Photo was GX1 and Panny/Leica 25mm. 1/1600th at F5.6 ISO 160. Negative exposure compensation.
Set your odometer (trip meter) to zero at the Sukhumvit/Chaiyapruek crossroads (km 154), head south for 7 kms, turn left at km 161 on the road to Phra Phutharap Khao Chi Chan (Buddha Mountain). Silverlake is about 1km further on the right.
Indeed a beautiful shot, hard to believe that you are only 20min away from ugly concrete SinCity. I always liked to have diner at “Silver lake restaurant”.
How’s the food? Seems like they are building a small town out there.
I loved the cold cuts & snacks starter, although a bit expensive. And they have a lovely warm-chocolate dessert. Missing that here in Khon Kaen!
Yes they started to build a kind of estate next to the restaurant, right? Huge long-term investment out there with a good sense of the future of Pattaya. Although they have grapes it is too young for wine, so their wine comes from their other brand at Wang Nam Khiouw. But really overpriced (even for Thai standards).
Such a nice photo that one is tempted to make it ones desktop wallpaper. And to visit the scene too, actually.
Very well Sir, we shall remain happily twat-free. It goes along quite well if you sing it to the tune of ‘Born Free’. It’s why I try mostly to sack people with short names, it’s very theraputic to wander around for a few days humming ‘Smith free, thank God we are Smith free’…
As it seems that Silverlake may be able to be visited while at the same time avoiding Pattaya I must put it on the list of places to go, which grows ever longer the more places we go.
Thankyou for the tech report, I find your 1/1600th impressive and compelling…
