Just like a prisoner
Our “computer room”. Great computers, crap furniture, broken chairs and a floor that has not recovered from a flood several years ago. Something had to be done.
For a few weeks we have been preparing for a change. Designed and ordered a custom made desk that will handle all the computing equipment, chosen tiles and found a contractor. Then sacked the contractor when he turned up to review the job smelling of several bottles of whiskey. Chose another contractor and spent all of the weekend emptying both the computer room and the bedroom (that needed a new floor too). Everything moved to the back bedroom where we are now living with mounds of stuff and both cats; kinda like bedsit life and rather fun.
So today the contractor arrived and by mid-morning there was no floor in the computer room.
And by lunchtime the bedroom floor was similarly devastated.
My job is to baby-sit and ensure they don’t break stuff they are not supposed to, or walk off with she who must be obeyed’s extensive collection of shoes. Which means no outings, no photography and no windsurfing (which I have already missed for a couple of weeks due to being “busy” for a variety of reasons).
Just like a prisoner, but with a worse internet connection.

Good Lord, looks pretty organised to me, though you could do with getting rid of all those prints whcih do indeed clutter up the place a bit … oh, and add a beer fridge …

There is a beer fridge included in the new design; or “stand-alone computing facility cooler” as it shown in the drawings, so as not to alert you know who.
