We are about to embark on a one week tour of Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai with visiting friends. This means no posts for several days, and a deluge of posts and photos when I return. With the arrival of the lovely Panasonic GF1, I no longer feel the need to drag my monster DSLR and a bag of lenses along, so travelling light with photo gear will be a pleasant change.

Not that I am implying that there is anything worth reading on Pattaya Days , but should you be in need of a read over the next week, you could do a lot worse than this:

Mobi is an alcoholic, and over the past six months or so he has been recording his battle against the addiction, and charting the course of his life which to a great extent explains why he is such a troubled person. Successful in his professional life, he has sought out challenge and conflict in both work and personal relationships (he has a dangerous predilection for bar girls); and has used alcohol as a buffer to manage the resulting stress. It’s a sad but fascinating life story, told without excuses. Having followed him for a few months, I felt genuinely saddened when he fell off the wagon (again) a few days ago. Highly recommended, but start at his first post and work forward.

Updates next Sunday. Have a good week.
